Various manor houses such as Wasserschloss Voerde, Haus Wohnung, Haus Ahr or Haus Götteswick testify of the history of our Niederrhein.

Haus Voerde is an originally medieval moated castle and is a listed building. It serves as registry office, cultural center for events and restaurant.

Haus Wohnung is a mansion built in the 15th century as a moated castle with mill and is now privately owned.

Close to Haus Wohnung stood the estate Ahr which already in 1241 documentary mention. Unfortunately it decayed and only remains reminiscent of the Ahrstraße in Voerde to the original exist.
